ways to discover new books

Helloo Everyone,

You are never too far away from finding a good read but sometimes getting the right one for you can be more of a challenge. Although the internet has made it easier for us to search the books we want for a bargain you still can't beat the traditional ways that come with a great story behind it! So as you can see, the possibilities are endless and here are just 8 of them:

Title: Paperweight*

Author: Meg Haston

Genres: Mental Health, Young Adult

Published: July 2015

What's the book about?

Stevie is a 17 year old girl who is now staying at a treatment center in New Mexico as a result of her anorexia. Her dad was the one who signed her up for the 60 day treatment but Stevie isn't planning on staying for long. She doesn't want to be there. She doesn't understand why she belongs there surrounded by these nurses, therapists and the food she's being trying to avoid. All that's on her mind is that the anniversary of her brother's death is coming up in 27 days. She plans to be with her brother by then but will the treatment have a positive effect on her? Or will it just push her even more?

Anticipated Book Pre-Orders of 2015

Helloo Everyone,

I recently joined a group on Goodreads called Top 5 Wednesdays created by Lainey from GingerReadsLainey. They create weekly bookish topics every Wednesday for any booktuber or book blogger to do on their channel or blog and obviously I was very happy to join! This week's topic is on anticipated pre-orders for the rest of 2015 so here are my top 5 choices:

July TBR

Helloo Everyone,

This post is very much needed not just because I'm going to be reading some pretty good books but also because there's no book haul this month again which means I haven't bought a single for two months (actually tell a lie I did buy one for a friend but I didn't buy any for myself) No don't worry you read it right.. not to fear because I've made a mental note in my head that I NEED to buy some books this month for a treat to myself especially as it's my birthday in a couple of weeks too. Now before I get carried away talking about my birthday, let's get started with my books of July!

Disney Book Tag

Helloo Everyone,

It's been long overdue and there's no time like the present so I've decided to spice things up and do a book tag. What's even more great is that it's the Disney Book Tag! It was originally created by the lovely BookTuber Kat from Katytastic in honour of the soon-to-be released Disney novel The Isle of the Lost by Melissa de la Cruz which I'll of course be purchasing as soon as I can. I enjoyed her video so much that I thought I'd give it a go which I hope you lovely readers don't mind but if you like both books and Disney I'm sure you'll be fine hehe!

June TBR

Helloo Everyone,

Finally I get to do another book post, I felt like I hadn't done one in ages! Sadly there was no book haul last month because well, I didn't actually buy any books.. How sad is that? Money is tight at the moment with me not having a job so I have to keep an eye on what I spend! But that doesn't mean I can't read the books I already have right? So with that being said, the books I've decided to read this month are all books that have been on my bookself for sooo long but never managed to read. I'm quite excited actually because I hate looking at books I own and see what many of them I haven't read.. BOOKS ARE TO BE READ NOT TO BE SAT ON A SELF THE WHOLE TIME! Um.. what was I saying?

May TBR

Helloo Everyone,

May has now arrived (well we're nearly half way through the month but let's just skip that) so it's time for another to-be-read post! I'm only planning to read 3 books this month because when I tried to read 4 books in April I struggled with me being so busy, I think I was being a bit optimistic as I managed to read more books in March than expected so if I read one or two more books than that this time it'll just a bonus haha! Well I better get started with the 3 lucky books I've chosen this month:

April Book Haul

Helloo Everyone,

I was a bit more sensible this month when it came to buying books because I thought I'd give my bank account a nice break haha! Some of the ones I bought where from my April book wishlist (link is here) and others were random buys which is always great right? I'll give you all the little details below so here they are!

April TBR

Helloo Everyone,

Another month, another to-be-read pile! Oh wait but Ali, we're already half way through the month?! I know I know I'm sorry I will get the hang of this I swear I'm trying to get more organised now, I'll get there eventually haha! Anyway, I did pretty well last month with reading 2 more books than expected so I've decided to read 4 books this month instead of 3, I love a challenge! So you want to know what books I'm reading this month? Here they are:

April Book Wishlist

Helloo Everyone,

Sorry I only done 1 blog post last week, I've been so busy with things I lost track. I'm back now so I'll get to the point of this post, books! What a surprise right? Anyway, there's always books out there that I'm just waiting to buy and it could be anything from 3 to 15 books a month haha! But sadly with me being a student and not having a permanent job it's not easy to just buy things, especially books, whenever I want.. but I can dream! So here are the books that have made it onto this months wishlist!

March Book Haul

Helloo Everyone,

Okay I got a bit carried away and I've ended up buying a couple of books more than I thought I would, not like I'm not complaining or anything haha! So I thought I would show you what books I've got this month earlier than planned as this might stop me from buying anymore till April (my bank account needs a break) but you never know, you might discover a book you like!

My Love Hate Relationship with my Kindle

Helloo Everyone,

I'm going to be completely honest with you now, I never had any intention on having a Kindle at first. People would say to me "Oh you should definitely get a Kindle you'd love it!" and there'd be me like no thanks they'd never be as good as physical books.. reading e-books just didn't appeal to me! Well as you can see I do in fact have a Kindle but it was a long journey from not even considering having one to not wanting to go out with it so let me fill you in on the pros and cons!

March TBR

Helloo Everyone,

As you guys probably don't know this about me, I'm quite the bookworm so I set myself a challenge to read 25 books this year!!! It may seem hard for some and easy to others but you'll be surprised of how sidetracked you can get and how annoying it is when you plan something at the beginning of the year and it doesn't pull through.. I want that to change so each month I'm going to plan monthly TBR (to be read) throughout 2015 and then I'll do a wrap up of what I thought of the books! I've seen a couple of bloggers and youtubers do this, I liked the idea of it and thought why not!

BLOGMAS #1 A Christmas Carol Book Review

Helloo Everyone,

I hope this Christmas month is going well for you all and you're getting all excited like me! To kick start blogmas off it I thought as I've just finished reading Charles Dickens 'A Christmas Carol' I thought I would give you guys a short review. I work at my university bookshop and when I was working a shift a couple of weeks ago it caught my eye on display, I hadn't even thought of reading a Christmas book but I really liked the cover of the book and the you might be able to see that the side of the pages are red which I find pretty cool! As you can see from the pics below I was reading it while in Costa Coffee; I had a gingerbread man and a white hot chocolate with whipped cream, strawberry sauce and little gold stars.. IT WAS HEAVEN! Sorry where was I?! Oh yeah, let's get back to the book!
